About Us
Smart Advice Health & Safety Consultants was founded 18 years ago by Audrey Smart.
We offer a broad range of health and safety services and can advise on appropriate steps to be taken by employers. Services offered range from health and safety policies and risk assessments to inspections and accident investigations. We also offer a considerable range of training courses and are a registered centre with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and the Royal Society for the Promotion of Health.
We work in a number of different industries including construction and roofing, television and film, schools and manufacturing. Our client list is varied and ranges from very small SMEs to much larger organisations.
We recognise that complying with health and safety legislation can be onerous and we aim to make the process as painless as possible. We endeavour to ensure that compliance enhances your business activity rather than hinders it.

Founder of Smart Advice, Audrey has eighteen years experience working in the field of health and safety in the UK and abroad. She studied for her Masters Degree in Occupational Safety and Health and the NEBOSH Diploma pt 2 at the University of Bristol, her PgC in Occupational Health and Safety Management at Portsmouth University and her PgCE (PCET) at the University of Plymouth. She lectures NEBOSH courses at Bridgwater College. She studied for her PGCE (PCET) at the City of Bristol College in conjunction with Plymouth University. Audrey has also holds the NEBOSH Construction Certificate. She has also studied food safety and has completed the RIPH Advanced Diploma in Food Hygiene and Safety.
Audrey is also a qualified CDM Co-ordinator and is a member of the Association for Project Safety.
She is a Chartered Member of IOSH, a member of the aPS, ROSPA and the IIRSM, a Fellow of the RSPH and is a registered tutor with the CIEH, IOSH, HVCA, NCFE, RIPH and NEBOSH.
